7 Things to do in Tuscany
When you’re in Tuscany, there are things that have to be done. Those things are what make for great memories that last for a lifetime. Those things include:
• The Leaning Tower of Pisa – This is only a 50 mile drive from Florence. You’ll see that the bell tower really leans. If you don’t wish to drive, you can take a train to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
• Siena – This is what is considered to be the greatest medieval town in Italy. This is just another one of the great places in Tuscany that allows you to walk through narrow streets and alleyways. You can climb to the top of Siena’s bell tower if you feel up to it.
• Chianti – This is one of the most popular places to taste wine.
• Lucca – Here you will find medieval buildings and churches. The architecture is amazing. The Roman Amphitheater is over 1900 years old.
• San Gimignano – It sits on a hill that is over 300 metres high and dates back to the 10th century. At one time there were 72 towers, but now there are only 14 left.
• Fiesole – This is just 5 miles outside of Florence, so it is great for a quick trip. You can even take a bus to see some really great views.
• Florence – When visiting Tuscany, you have to take a trip over to Florence. This will probably be the biggest highlight of your trip, aside from the serenity that makes up Tuscany. It will take a few days for you to take in Florence and enjoy the tours and the spectacular views that it has to offer. The Uffizi Gallery is one of those spectacular places. Be sure to get your tickets in advance because waits can be as long as 5 hours.
